Meet Edward from Zambia
Hi, my name is Edward Phiri! I was born in 1970 and live in Lusaka, which is the center of commerce and government in Zambia. Lusaka connects my country’s four main highways heading north, south, east and west. I am married to Diness Njovu and God has blessed us with six wonderful children.
I am a born-again Christian, who was called by God at the age of 12. However, I did not attend Bible College until I was 36 years old. After completing a year of studies, I was ordained as a pastor in 2007 and planted the church that I continue to pastor. Since then, I have received Missions Training, attended World Bible School and finished a 5-year program with Emity Bible College, graduating in 2021 with an Advanced Diploma in Pastoral Leadership.

The Vision Statement of the church I pastor comes from Matthew 28:19-20, where Jesus says, “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all I have commanded you.” Therefore, since the Lord called His followers to make disciples, that’s what I want to do, too!
My desire has been to find the kind of training that would best equip me to be a true Disciple of Jesus who could become a Discipler for Jesus. Thankfully, the Lord directed me to Disciplers International (DI) and I am very glad, because the Step-by-Step training I have received is exactly what I was looking for.
The discipleship ministry of DI has transformed me and I am growing so much in my faith. Now, I look forward to training others as I have been trained.
